New Capital Link was founded in 2019 and formally established in 2020 by Rachel Buscall, our CEO and Co-Founder — and Chelmsford has personal significance to that story. Before starting New Capital Link, Rachel founded and ran a tearoom business in Chelmsford, building the local reputation, work ethic and eye for customer care that later carried straight through into the company she built here. Setting up the head office in Shenfield wasn't an arbitrary choice of postcode; it's where the founder's own working life in Essex began, and where she chose to build the next one.
That history is part of why Chelmsford still functions as the true centre of the business rather than a registered address on paper. Most of our core team — the people handling day-to-day client relationships, operations and administration, and research support — are based here in person, working alongside the leadership team rather than at a distance from it. If you want to be close to how New Capital Link actually runs, this is where that happens.
It's also a genuinely practical base. Being in Essex keeps overheads sensible and the working culture close-knit, while still leaving the option open to travel into central London for client meetings when a role calls for it.
